Yesterday, CICU attended the Higher Education Opportunity Program Professional Organization’s (HEOPPO) 2024 Fall Training Workshop to inform our member colleges and universities HEOP Professionals on CICU’s mission, how to prepare for the upcoming Legislative Session, and ways to advocate for their students.
The Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) for independent colleges and universities was founded by Assemblymember Arthur O. Eve in 1969 with the goal to provide access to independent institutions for residents of New York State who, for any number of reasons, find themselves academically and financially under-prepared for college.
CICU advocates for education opportunity programs, like HEOP, to provide opportunity and access to higher education through fairness, equity, and humanity.
