Last night, CICU bid “farewell and thank you” to our Fellow, Hnin Htwe, as she completed her six-month fellowship at CICU. Hnin, who hails from Myanmar, just graduated from the Rockefeller College of Public Policy with her Master of Public Administration and Policy. She joined CICU in January as part of the Fellowship on Women & Public Policy, sponsored by The Center for Women in Government and Civil Society, which seeks to deepen and broaden political access, economic opportunities and social inclusion for women by strengthening the capacity of government, nonprofit and business sectors to implement gender-responsive, inclusive and equitable policies, practices and services.
The Fellowship is a six-month, rigorous, and multi-faceted leadership development program primarily for graduate students. It is designed to provide a springboard for aspiring women leaders to pursue careers in public policy while increasing the capacity of New York State government and civil society. Now celebrating its 45th year, the Fellowship has graduated more than 450 women who occupy public policy leadership positions across the state and nation and around the globe. CICU was honored to host Hnin and we look forward to seeing the amazing work she and her cohort will accomplish.
