Recession to Recovery: Degrees Matter

  • During the Great Recession, workers with at least a bachelor’s degree were employed at higher rates, and as a group, actually gained nearly 200,000 jobs by the end of the recession.
  • During the current recovery, 73 percent of the added jobs have gone to those with at least a bachelor’s degree.[1]
