Higher Ed Matter of Fact: Independent Sector Enrollment Remains Steady

Across New York State, 1.26 million students are enrolled in higher education.

Since 2005, undergraduate enrollment in the Independent Sector has increased by 8 percent. Over the same period, graduate enrollment has increased by 5 percent.

Despite a national trend towards lower enrollment in recent years, New York State's Independent Sector enrollment has held steady, increasing by 1 percent between 2010 and 2015.[1]
