Rebecca Greer, a Virginia native, relocated to New York in June 2014 to take the position of Dean of Montefiore School of Nursing. She has 19 years of experience in nursing education at the program director level or higher. While employed at Virginia's Jefferson College of Health Sciences, she developed the Business Plan and Curriculum for a second degree Accelerated BSN (ABSN) Program which opened Fall Semester 2011.

Dr. Greer is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Zeta Omega-at-Large Chapter, Council of Associate Degree Nursing in New York State, and serves as secretary of the NYS Council of Hospital Schools of Nursing. Some of her committee memberships include the Executive Compliance Committee Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center Nursing Senior Cabinet Committee Environment of Care Committee Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, and Emergency Management Committee Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital. She also serves on several college nursing program advisory boards.

Her scholarship interests include simulation and cultural competence. She earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing from Virginia Western Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Roanoke College, a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of Phoenix and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Case Western Reserve University.

On a more personal note, Dr. Greer has two daughters. Her oldest daughter, Katherine, resides in Los Angeles, California and her youngest daughter, Julia, lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
